Responsibilities
* Assist senior staff with client due diligence efforts
* Based on level of experience, may work independently or under supervision of senior staff to develop and present underwriting presentations on least complex transactions; responsible for preparing approval to pitch memos, structuring summaries, projection models; recommend risk ratings.
* Applies broad understanding of business environment, current industry trends and economic cycles to analysis; thorough analysis and understanding of transaction, client, industry and sector.
* Determines sustainable competitive advantages of clients by thorough understanding of management strategies and the company's position within the context of the industry.
* Participates in the legal documentation process by identifying key covenants and credit provisions.
* Assists senior staff with special projects as needed.
* Ongoing portfolio monitoring of client credit / financial condition and risk management: annual reviews, maintain knowledge base of comparative data on clients and competition, validation of risk ratings, renewals, waivers and amendments, exposure levels; review covenant compliance.
Qualifications:
BA / BS, and MBA Preferred; strong financial accounting knowledge and completion of a Major Bank or Investment Bank Training program. We prefer someone who has worked as in analyst on Alternative Investment Deals (Private Equity, Mezzanine, Second Lien, etc.). Candidate should have have at least 2 - 3 years of banking, underwriting or credit experience.
