Position Summary:

Accountable for ensuring that district attains sales objectives for promoted products. Provide input to sales management for strategic business and promotional plans for current and future products. Recruit, train, develop and supervise hospital representatives.

Essential Functions:

Achieve monthly, quarterly and total annual sales objectives.

Recruit, hire, train, retain, develop and lead diverse, high performing hospital representatives to their full potential.

Identify and acknowledge individual strengths and needs within the district.

Conduct field travel with each hospital representative, calling on key accounts, institutions and opinion leaders. Completes field coaching report after each travel day.

Lead by example to create an environment of integrity, character, accountability and trust.

Promote and support the spirit of Daiichi Sankyo’s culture and values.

Set and maintain competent product knowledge and selling skills standards within the team.

Direct and monitor the execution of approved marketing plans and promotion campaigns.
Evaluate and identify improvement and development opportunities of hospital sales representatives through performance management process.

Plan and conduct effective sales meetings. Ensure compliance of Company policies and regional expectations.

Effectively manage district’s budgets.

Prepare performance evaluations on all Hospital Sales Representatives in the district and recommend merit increases to Hospital Director.

Develop and execute Business Plan to achieve district, regional, company goals.

Analyze sales reports and develop plan of action. Maintain complete records and submit reports as directed by management.


Education and Experience Guidelines

BS / BA required

Five years successful pharmaceutical sales experience. A minimum of two years district manager experience; one of which must include hospital management experience. Hospital cardiovascular experience a plus.

Must be able to travel to meetings and related sales events up to 50-70% of the time.
