COMPANY DESCRIPTION:Newark is a leading distributor of electronic components, value-added services and eProcurement solutions. We currently seek a Finance Manager - Internal Controls for our Chicago office.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:This role is responsible for the coordination of Newark-wide compliance and control activities. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to identify key business process weaknesses and lead/participate in re-design efforts.

  • Focus on key/open internal control issues, consulting on how best to resolve them and communicating to the organization.
  • Working with Sr. Mgmt to identify ways to create more awareness of the benefits of strong internal controls and get the organization more engaged
  • Ensure Group deadlines for ICQ and audit report updates are met
  • Managing key projects to resolve business process weaknesses. Projects may include conducting a review of the Order to Cash Cycle - mapping the cycle, identifying areas of weakness and implementing change.
  • Liaise closely with internal and external auditors as well as Newark Finance
  • Develop appropriate compliance and control reporting and processes - move from event driven to a more fluid process.
  • Ensuring adequate fiscal compliance and financial control through system and process recommendations
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience
  • CPA and/or MBA with high levels of technical & commercial knowledge in relation to financial control, fiscal compliance and systems
  • Internal Audit experience strongly preferred
  • Six Sigma experience preferred
  • Process re-engineering experience strongly preferred
  • High working knowledge of typical large business processes
  • Experience gained within relevant business environments at a senior level
  • Ability to effectively work with and influence colleagues across the full spectrum of abilities and responsibilities
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining sight of the key priorities
  • Ability to work through highly complex issues independently
  • Ability to influence at a senior level
  • Strong communicator of both technical and commercial material
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Valid Passport and willingness to travel to Mexico, Brazil and Europe (Travel approx. 10%)
