| Kids In Danger is a nonprofit dedicated to protecting children by improving children's product safety. With recalled children's products in national headlines throughout 2007 for a series of high-profile recalls of trusted name brands, suddenly it seems everyone is talking about children's product safety. Kids In Danger was founded in 1998 when 16 month-old Danny Keysar was killed in a recalled portable crib in his licensed childcare facility. His parents founded Kids In Danger so that no more children would be hurt or killed by dangerous, recalled products. Ten years after our founding, substantive improvements to children's product safety oversight are on the horizon. Be on the frontlines in working to strengthen the children's product safety system and in getting lifesaving product safety information to the public! Position Description: KID seeks to expand our community outreach efforts across the greater Chicago area. The outreach coordinator will research, coordinate and schedule events. Outreach coordinators may also work as Event Representatives or Outreach Educators. The volunteer should be comfortable conducting internet research, should be very organized and should have great communication skills. This position allows for a certain amount of creativity in finding new ways and places for our lifesaving information to reach the public! Hours (Min/Max): 2-10 hours per week In office?
