Position Summary: Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for his/her patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patent care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific patient populations and cultural diversity during the provision of patient care. The RN is responsible for maintaining his/her own clinical and/or mandatory education requirements. The RN is responsible for meeting the established standards of his/her profession and for practicing within the scope of licensure. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Promotes an environment of care. Supports the organizational vision and mission.Professional Credentials:Education and License1. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.2. Currently licensed or eligible for licensure by the state in which the nurse practices.3. Basic Life Support Certification is required unless a doctor's release is provided, in which case, yearly proficiency must be demonstrated through oral and written testing.4. Proficient oral and written communication skills. Experience1. At least one year of supervised experience as an RN within the last two years for hospital assignments.2. At least six months of supervised experience as an RN for nursing home or long-term care.
